What technology resources can we use?

Technology has become an integral component of our world and is transforming how people think, communicate, and manage their everyday lives. In order to prepare people for the new “Digital Age” they must learn how to use technology to its fullest potential. New technologies are emerging every year and are making a significant impact in education. In order to adequately prepare the future generation, educators must keep up-to-date with these new technologies and integrate them into their teacher education programmes.

There are various technological resources that we can use in schools in the 21st century  such as computers, internet, online texts books, online tutor classes, slides shows from power point, transparencies and a projector, digital cameras, MP3 players, cell phones, and personal digital assistants (PDAs) these are just some of the technological advances we use everyday. Learners in the 21st century can use technology for big projects at school and to complete their school assignments at home. Technology tools that promote group work (like e-mail and computer management systems), social computing tools promote synchronous “virtual” meetings and the ability to share information and receive feedback in an online community. The use of blogs, wikis, instant messaging, and interactive video conferencing are some of the technological tools used for social computing in schools (Mosenson & Johnson, 2008).
